How to start
Writing is primarily done on the computer. Computers can be either bought in the buy mode or used by visiting the library. Increasing this skill will unlock new writing interactions on the computer as well as the ability to publish and self-publish books. to do this use the mail box once you have written a book.
Levels / Rewards
Level 1 ~ Sim’s newly acquired writing skill will allow her to enjoy the benefits of an expanded vocabulary & grammatically correct sentences.
Level 2 ~ Sim can now Self-Publish books.
Level 3 ~ Sim can now write short stories & write excuse notes for other sims. sim also can read non-fiction books for reference & discuss favourite book/author with other sims.
Level 4 ~ Sim can now write poems. sim also can write love emails to other sims.
Level 5 ~ Sim can now write non-fiction. sim also can sell to publisher & recite love poetry with other sims.
Level 6 ~ Sim can now write screenplays.
Level 7 ~ Sim can now write fantasy. Sim can now enthuse about lambic pentameter with other sims.
Level 8 ~ Sim can now write science fiction.
Level 9 ~ Sim can now write mystery. sim also can submit to literary digest.
Level 10 ~ Sim can now write biography & mentor other sims in writing.

Aspirations ~ Best-selling Autor
Traits ~ Creative and bookworm are the 2 traits to go for if you want to be a writer/Autor in the sims 4.
Tip ~ At level 10 sims can write the book of life which will bring a sim back to life. To find out exactly how to do this check the Best selling Author aspiration post.
Tip ~ Writing is a skill that you don’t have to tie to a career, you could use the computer to write books and publish and self publish them to have a working revenue for your sims.
