The Astronaut career branches off in two directs at level 7, you can choose from Space ranger or Interstellar smuggler. There isn’t really a difference except for a couple of objects however the interstellar smuggler brings home a lot more simoleons per day than the ranger. This career is a rabbit hole job, which means your sim will disappear off lot for the time they are at work and then reappear after work.
Tip ~ you will earn a rocket ship for free however if you are doing the career just to explore outta space then you can purchase a rocket and do that with-out the career.
Tip ~ you don’t have to be in the career to get the rocket ship. Go to buy – skills – go down to rockets. It is 5,000 simoleons to buy the rocket, then 10,000 to start building.
Tip ~ go to work in an Energised mood.

Final Thoughts
In my opinion although the pay is good and you can make a living with this career, the fact that you can explore space without the career takes away from the career itself. Instead of having to be part of the astronaut or even the scientist career to go to space, any sim can do it. I personally feel if they had made it so only a select few sims could make it to space the the Astronaut career would feel more worth while.
