The Athlete Career branches off into two different branches, at level 5 the Bodybuilder branch and the Pro Athlete career branch. The Body builder branch will give more simoleons 500 a hour compared to Pro athlete which gives 333 simoleons per hour at level 10. There are lots of trophies that you will collect through this career in either branch and the main two skills used are fitness and charisma.

Final Thoughts
My last thought on this skill is that the sims team missed a trick with adding in the dance skill and bringing some fun cheerleader moves in to go with the career, even adding an element of home goals with street performances with sims watching your own sim doing weights or dancing in the street to boast job performance. However as a rabbit hole its an ok job, that brings in a lot of money as you level up through the promotions.
